Spencer Ludwig, former trumpet player for Capital Cities, returns to Coachella Valley to perform at The Chase

This won’t be the first time Spencer Ludwig has performed in the Coachella Valley when he appears at The Chase on April 9 at the Palm Springs Convention Center.

Ludwig played trumpet for the indie-pop duo Capital Cities, and his solos are featured prominently in their breakout hit “Safe and Sound,” which was No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in 2013, two years after the song’s release.

That eventually led to Capital Cities to playing on the main stage at Coachella in 2014, with a memorable performance with Ludwig heavily featured.

And here’s another terrific song from Capital Cities, “One Moment More.”

But soon, Ludwig broke out on his own as a solo artist, signing with Warner Records.

His first song was “Diggy,” which he performed on “Late Night with Seth Meyers”
